Jacqui Bayliss has been a successful breeder,
exhibitor, and international judge of the breed for almost
thirty years.
The original book of just 60 copies and just 95 pages; by Ralph
Wilkes was printed in 1986. Jacqui made a promise before his
death to re write his book and include his beautiful paintings,
drawings. Some 16 years later, so much more information has been
learnt and gained and masses of pictorial data collected and
many photos taken by Jacqui Bayliss since 1981,when she first
became interested in the breed’s history and joined Ralph Wilkes
as a breed historian. Jacqui soon found she had ‘an eye’ for a
dog.
After many years of learning and studying
Jacqui has become an international breed specialist judge and
has judged the breed in many countries around the world
including many times at shows in the UK including twice at
Crufts, as breed specialist at the Crufts, 1991 Centenary and in
2007. In the mother country of Sweden at their specialty. Other
countries include, Finland, Holland, USA, and Canada’s first
club specialty. Jacqui gives breed seminars for The Swedish
Vallhund Society and independently particularly after judging
abroad and finds it very rewarding to help others learn about
her favorite breed. |
